A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH -- NORTH DAKOTA'S LAKESIDE OASIS

Skunk Bay Resort is a full-service lakeside destination nestled back in the hills & valleys of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation where mere centuries ago, Captain Merriweather Lewis & William Clark passed thru on their westward exploration. In that time--the bays & shores in which we enjoy today were nothing but Badlands & Grasslands snaking along the Missouri River where the Native American ranchers ran their horses, cattle & other livestock.  Free roaming on these hills were the deer, fox, prairie dogs and of course--rattlesnakes. When the Garrison Dam was built, this former grazing land where past generations ran their livestock was flooded--filling in the low lying areas with water creating the recreational gem we now call Skunk Bay.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR 2024:

  • No glass containers allowed on site.

  • To ensure safety--Children must be supervised at all times. 

  • Dogs are no longer allowed in cabin rentals. Failure to comply with this will add a cleaning fee onto your reservation & deposit will be forfeited.

  • While at Skunk Bay, dogs must be leashed at all times.  

  • PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG--There are 2 dog waste stations on the property, one by the RV Campground & one next to The Pavilion.

  • No animals will be allowed in the Rooster aside from Registered Service Animals. 

  • Only leashed dogs will be allowed on the patio, deck and Pavilion areas.
